Firstly, I must mention here that, whatever the nature is offering us, are the god’s gift. But, it is the human nature to decorate those gifts of god in such a fashion, which has it’s own taste and smell. Wine is the best example of such idea, developed by mankind across the globe. Now-a-days there are thousands of colors and tastes of wine, which are served with delicious foods, whether it is meat, chicken or even fish or veg dishes. People in the world are enjoying a lot with their respective food and wine culture. It has great history as well as the great innovative approaches are still going on all over.
In fact, there is a great intimacy in between the wine and food culture. I wants to emphasis that, Pairing perfect wine with perfect dish is like a dream. Some people who are crazy about wine and food culture, are always trying to combine both on different occasions. As you know, there are tastes like sweetness, acidity, bitterness and souring, the foods and wine should generally match. It does enhance the dining experience. Neither the food nor the wine should dominate each other, and that is the principle where this magic works. One more principle which guides is that, food and wine should not be heavy in overall nature. Instead it should be full of taste and aroma. Most of the that dishes are known for their aroma while fresh seafood can be enjoyed with relatively neutral wine like Mus-cadet, in New Zealand.
As far as the beginners are concerned, one should always try for white wine because it has little bit sweet taste and less alcohol. Those who are already having a taste of lots of different colorful wines, needs to find out which one they suits best. In my opinion, one must keeps trying to match the best food with best choice of wine. Because it is a very personal thing, in the sense that what one likes the combination, another cannot be satisfied with that alone. So my advice is that to do experiment for the same. Even if you are confused, there are plenty of books as well as websites also which deals with it. You see, there are no particular guidelines, but experiences does matters sometimes.
In a nutshell, I can only say that the best way to match wine with food is that it must have the same characteristics. You should take care of yourself in this regard, because it may be harmful combination, but not always too ! So, it is ideal view to experience first the taste of wine and than opt for the food quality, may it be a veg or non-veg. In USA, UK or in Australia or New Zealand, fresh sea food and meat is always serving the both purpose. In Asian countries, there are different cultures being observed in case of wine and food., which one must taste in a life.
